Superior Walls of the Twin Cities History

We have great news! Superior Walls of the Twin Cities (formally known as Guyer's Superior Walls) has a new owner and will be enhancing operations with the introduction of the newest and most advanced foundation product, the Xi wall. Gary Hess, the owner, is a 1988 graduate of West Virginia University where he earned a degree in industrial engineering. In 1997, he started his own business in the basement of his home by becoming a franchisee of Superior Walls. His background for integrated systems that save time, money, materials and energy was a perfect fit for a Superior Walls franchise. That first year, Superior Walls of Northwest PA set 40 foundations for new home owners!

In 1999, Hess expanded his territory as a franchisee for Superior Walls into western and central New York State. A year later, he built his own manufacturing plant in Lima, NY and has been manufacturing walls from that location ever since. Now Mr. Hess is expanding his business into the Minneapolis/St Paul area, bringing the same business ethics that have been successful in New York and PA to the Twin Cities' area.

Superior Walls is a precast concrete residential foundation product and can be custom- designed and built to almost any architectural style. The walls are manufactured in a climate-controlled setting, delivered to your building site and set by certified crews in less than one day, even in cold weather. They are easy to finish with factory installed studs ready for drywall and have R-12.5 insulation built-in. Superior Walls meets the new IRC codes for below-grade living space and is backed by a national warranty.

Superior Walls has been featured in Popular Science magazine for receiving the National Association of Home Builders Innovative Housing Technology award. In addition, Superior Walls has been featured on numerous television shows because of the ease (time-saving) of installation and the green aspects of our product. Superior Walls of Upstate New York also won the 2007 Top Franchise Performance of the year award at Superior Walls Annual Convention, held in January 2008.

This year marks the tenth anniversary of Superior Walls of Northwest PA. Their offices located at 9391 W Main Road in North East and 7574 E Main Road in Lima NY, employ more than 80 people. Setting over 700 foundations in 2007, you can see why Superior Walls is fast becoming the foundation of every Superior New Home in PA, NY... and will now be the foundation of choice in MN and WI.
